NEW UPDATES FOR 2025 FALL FOOTBALL

FALL 2025 UPDATES

We’re also making some exciting changes this season, and we want to keep you in the loop:

New Flag Football Divisions
We’re officially splitting Kinder and 1st grade! Under our Flag Football division, we will now have:

  • Kinder Teams

  • 1st Grade Teams

  • 2nd Grade Teams

This allows us to better tailor skill development for each grade level!

New Game Day Location
Due to field construction within Northwest ISD, our Saturday home games will now be held at:
Texan Stadium – located to the right of the NISD Stadium off Highway 114.

Practice Locations
To gear up for an amazing season, practices will take place at:

  • Byron Practice Fields

  • Medlin Middle School

We can’t wait to see our Bobcats back in action! Register now to claim your spot before we open to the public. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

Go Bobcats!

Rookie Tackle Football

Starting in 3rd grade, players are introduced to full contact through Rookie Tackle. Rookie Tackle is part of our Bobcat Youth Football player development pathway, which serves as a bridge game from flag to traditional 11 player tackle football.

Unlike traditional 11 player tackle, an 8 on 8 format creates a simple version of the game where athletes can learn basic skills, like blocking and tackling; leading to advanced player skill development. Along with fewer players, the field is reduced to allow for more direct teaching of important skills.

Rookie Tackle is focused on safely teaching our athletes the basics of the game. All coaches are USA Football certified where they learn the safest ways to teach athletes how to tackle. Rules are adjusted to make it more manageable and fun while teaching the fundamentals of the game.

PARTICIPATING IN OUR FALL Rookie tackle Football PROGRAM INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
  • BYFO Branded Game day uniform
    • Jersey
    • Padded Tackle Pants
  • Scrimmage at BYFO Bobcat Nation Day
  • BYFO Youth Night @ NISD Stadium - All BYFO players & cheerleaders run out of the Bobcat Helmet before the big game!
  • 9 week regular season followed by playoffs (exact number depends on team counts in divisions)
  • Participation in the BNHS Homecoming Parade
  • Other fun events throughout the season such as community holiday parades
